Windows Vista Support Information

Works with Windows Vista

As a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, ABBYY pays special attention to developing products compatible with the latest Microsoft applications and operating systems including Windows® Vista™. With the official release of Vista, we have conducted extensive testing of our desktop applications to make sure that they work under the operating system. The current versions of ABBYY’s desktop applications were launched much before the final version of Vista was available, so we were not able to complete the testing required to ensure the compatibility at the original time of the product release. For this reason, customers may need to download additional software to update their current version to support Vista. These software updates will be provided free of charge to ABBYY registered customers.

The key ABBYY products have carried the Microsoft Windows logos and certifications, and we will remain committed to working with Microsoft closely and will continue our efforts to ensure that ABBYY customers have good experiences when working with our products.

In support to the statement above, ABBYY FineReader 8.0 (both Professional and Corporate Editions), ABBYY PDF Transformer 2.0 Pro and ABBYY Lingvo 12 (all three versions) have already received the «Works with Windows Vista» qualification and logo from Microsoft. The certification means that the products meet baseline standards of functionality on all PCs running Windows Vista and deliver a reliable experience.

ABBYY will continue to test its products, including data capture solutions and developer toolkits, and will release special updates and patches to ensure compatibility of all its products with Windows Vista.
